The general policy of Greenbay Veterinary Surgery is to re-assess an animal requiring repeat prescriptions for/supplies of relevant veterinary medicinal products every 3-6 months, but this may vary with individual circumstances. The standard charge for a medication check is £20.00
You will be told at each medication check how long before the Veterinary Surgeon wants to see your animal again, if you request more medication but are due a medication check, you will be told an appointment needs to be made before any more can be dispensed - If you have completely run out of medication, enough will be given to tide you over until the medication check with the Veterinary Surgeon.
In order for any Prescription Medcines to be dispensed by the practice, the animal must be deemed under the care of the Veterinary Surgeon. This means, the Veterinary Surgeon needs to have seen the animal in the past 3-12months - how regular a particular animal is seen to allow repeat dispensing of drugs is down to the Veterinary Surgeon's discretion. This rule applies for all Prescription Medicines, including Flea and Worm Treatments.
When requesting more medication/food etc. Please give us at least 24hours notice. The main reason for this is to allow us time to check whether it is in stock, if it is not we can order it to arrive the next day, and also to dispense it. |
